Time For Some Value

We're putting our hand up! Last week, we got off to a bad start. The Money Line bet of Melbourne Storm… Yep, it didn’t go too well. It was known that all stars Smith and Munster were out, but with the late scratching of Hughes seeing their entire playmakers out it proved to be too big of a challenge for Melbourne!

Alas, here we are again.

LA Clippers vs DAL Mavericks (U235.5)

So far, this series has been free-flowing in scoring, with both teams getting after it. However, with the pressure on the Clippers, look for them to get back to what they’re known for, which is hard-nosed defense. We're Taking the Unders!

Wagerr is boosting its odds for the NBA playoffs

Key Matchups this week

NBA

Portland Trail Blazers @ Los Angeles Lakers
Game 5 is slated for Wednesday in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The Lakers lead the series 3-1, and now the question is whether Lillard will be active for a potential elimination game. Lillard had a stunning Game 1 but The Lakers have beaten the stuffing out of Portland since then.

Clippers v Mavericks

Doncic’s performance on Sunday was the stuff of legend. A 21-year-old putting up a 43-point, 17-rebound, 13-assist game in the playoffs is extraordinary. Adding a buzzer-beater to that takes it to another level. It’s time for the Clipper’s to get back to hard-nosed defence to stay alive in the series.

OKC Thunder vs Houston Rockets

All the games in this series have been highly competitive. We can expect another close game on Wednesday. Russell Westbrook's return will be crucial for the Houston Rockets in this game. Another decisive factor would be Lu Dort's defence on James Harden. The Houston Rockets will be strong favourites to win this game and take a 3-2 lead in the series.

MMA

Light Heavyweight: Anthony Smith v Aleksandar Rakić

Aleksandar Rakic will be looking to rebound from his first UFC loss, a split-decision defeat to Volkan Oezdemir last December when he takes on former title contender Alex ‘Lionheart’ Smith in the main event of this weekend's UFC Fight Night 175 card at APEX in Las Vegas. Smith, also coming off a brutal loss to Glover Texeria, recently dubbed Racic a one-trick pony so expect this one to be an all-out war. Expect Lionheart to bounce back and win this one.

Welterweight: Robby Lawler v Neil Magney

Robbie Lawler is coming off the bench to battle Neil Magny in a late replacement fight at welterweight after initial opponent Geoff Neal was hospitalised after a serious health scare. Former champ Lawler is coming off the back of three straight defeats, the last of which was to Colby Covington in December 2019. Magny is on a two-fight win streak after defeating both Anthony Rocco Martin and Li Jingliang in June and March this year, respectively. Lawler has the most to prove so we expect him to get the win in brutal fashion.

NRL

Eels vs Rabbitohs

Upstaged the previous week by the Dragons, Parramatta got their premiership bid back on track with last week's 14-0 shutout of Melbourne. South Sydney have all but nearly locked in a finals spot after posting a dominating 56 points on Manly last week. This one may be closer than the market is telling us.

Panthers vs Tigers

Competition leaders Penrith will be aiming to extend their club-record winning streak and put paid to Wests Tigers' 2020 finals hopes in Saturday's prime-time clash at Panthers Stadium.

The Panthers, who have dropped just three points all season, are on a 10-win roll while Wests Tigers' hopes of playing finals football are becoming increasingly mathematical.

Expect a high scoring affair in the Battle of The West.

FOOTBALL

Japan J_League FC Tokyo vs Kashima Antlers

Winning against Shonan Bellmare in the last round helped FC Tokyo to maintain its sublimation circuit while still claiming 4th place in the current standings. And in the next round, welcoming Kashima Antlers will be a difficult challenge, but also a time for them to show their bravery.

NHL

Boston Bruins v Tampa Bay Lightning

Game 1 between the Bruins and Lightning made one thing abundantly clear. This second-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series will not be bereft of physicality and a hard-nosed brand of hockey.

Sunday’s series opener in Toronto, which Boston claimed with a 3-2 win, was awfully chippy. The Atlantic Division rivals combined for 76 total hits, and seemingly no player on either side shied away from contact. There’s no reason to believe this style of play won’t maintain throughout the best-of-seven set, and that’s perfectly fine with Bruce Cassidy’s club.

Las Vegas Golden Knights vs. Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks upset the Blues in Round 1, but winning in six is pretty dominant and not just the result of a few lucky bounces. They outscored St. Louis 22-16, and scored at least four goals on four occasions. They should be able to get to Lehner for a handful of goals, stealing Game 1 as moderate underdogs.
