Wagerr Weekly: September 29

Lakers IN. Miami IN. We all wanted the Nuggets to set an even more ridiculous record by coming back 3-1 down 3 times in these Playoffs, but Alas, we now have a mouthwatering clash between 3 time NBA champ Lebron and Jimmy Buckets.

As the NBA comes to an end, you can be sure that the drama in Football is only just getting started.

Key Matchups This Week

NBA 🏀

Lakers v Nuggets - Game 1

The Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat will meet in the 2020 NBA Finals in the NBA bubble. There’s a lot of value on the Miami side and not so much from the Lakers. If you’re thinking this series will be more competitive than the books, getting on the Heat now makes sense. The Heat have been underdogs in pretty much every game this postseason it seems.

NFL 🏈

Seahawks vs Dolphins

The undefeated Seahawks are 3-0 ATS (93.2% ROI) on the year, and opponents have been unable to stop quarterback Russell Wilson in this new #LetRussCook era. With the way he has played so far, he is easily the MVP frontrunner. You tend not to make money if you bet against him. Seahawks to cover seems strong here.

Packers vs Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons (0-3) take their search for their first win of the 2020 NFL season to Lambeau Field to face the undefeated Green Bay Packers. The Falcons suffered another humiliating loss against the Chicago Bears in Week 3, falling 30-26 at home after blowing a 26-10 lead after 45 minutes. In all reality, this might be your opportunity ever to bet against Quinn as a head coach. If the Packers blow out the Falcons, he might be fired.

MLB ⚾️

Astros vs Twins

Houston has too much playoff experience on its roster for there not to be value on this line. The Astros have made deep runs the past few seasons, while the Twins have yet to break through in the postseason. Houston Money Line.

NRL 🏉

Panthers v Roosters

This game has the potential to be the best of the season. The defending premiers the Roosters, coming off the back of an historic & uncharacteristic loss last week, will be looking to show the competition they’re still a force to be reckoned with. The Panthers, undefeated for 12 straight weeks and brimming with confidence have the form halves pairing in the comp in Nathan Cleary and x Factor Jerome Luai but do they have the big game experience? Unpopular opinion here but we’re going with the Roosters to shock the minor premiers in the first week of the Finals

Raiders v Sharks

The Cronulla Sharks have limped into this year's finals series. Their hopes were all but dashed when they lost inspiration playmaker Shaun Johnson for the season after he ruptured his achilles. The Sharks have claimed the unwanted record of the first team in history to make the finals without beating any of the teams in the top 8. The Raiders were grand finalists in 2019 and building nicely despite a season marred by injuries to key players. Expect them to make light work of the Sharks on Saturday.

Storm v Eels

If the Sharks are the worst team in the finals, the Eels are a close second. After a start to the season that saw many predicting 2020 would be the year of the Eel they quickly lost the ability to play the game racking up losses week after week. Luck to still be in the Top 4 the Eels come up against a red hot Melbourne Storm side that on paper and on the field are better in every department. Storm will do it easy.

Rabbitohs v Knights

This game features the two most inconsistent teams in the finals. At their best both the Rabbitohs and the Knights can carve up any opposition defence. At their worst they can have their supporters heading for the stadium exit before half time. The Knights are coming off the back of getting pumped by the Gold Coast Titans in the last round of the regular season. They have players that can make something happen but unfortunately the sum of the entire squad does not possess the quality for the star players to shine with the frequency required to go all the way. The Rabbitohs however are riding high off the back of what can best be described as a statistical anomaly of a win over the Roosters (60-8) last weekend. Anomaly or not, the boys are buoyed and playing good footy at the right time. This game has the potential to burn the good people punting with Wagerr but if you’re keen to have a lil something on the game then throw it all in the Rabbitohs and cross your fingers.

Soccer ⚽️

Serie A: Benevento v Inter Milan

On Wednesday Benevento will host Inter Milan in round 3 of the Serie A season. Sitting in eighth and ninth position on the ladder with 3 points each the two teams have met on three occasions in the past and Inter Milan picked up a victory in all three matches.

Benevento are in the midst of an injury crisis with for starters unavailable for the match with Inter. Inter Milan will be without midfielder Matias Vecino who has an injured knee while defender Stefan de Vrij could be in line for a return.

Experts expect Inter to not only take care of Benevento on Wednesday but to be the main threat the Juventus in the race for the title.

Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund v SC Freiburg

Borussia Dortmund will look to continue their rich vein of form when they host SC Freiburg on Saturday. In a bad sign for the visitors, Dortmund have prevailed in their last 10 encounters. Adding to the. A win for the Black-and-Yellows will see them equal a club record 24 game unbeaten streak at home. Freiburg have racked up 6 points from their first four games, their best start under Christian Streich's and their second best in the club's history. Expect Borussia Dortmund to get the win in this one.

MMA 🥊

UFC Fight Night - Holly Holm vs Irene Aldana

The UFC Fight Night main event of Holly Holm vs. Irene Aldana takes place at the Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The bout is scheduled for five rounds in the bantamweight division.

Holm, a former women’s bantamweight champion and featherweight title challenger has a 13-5 record heading into the fight. Her last win came in January against Raquel Pennington in a unanimous points decision. Since winning the title with a famous KO of Ronda Rousey, Holm has struggled to string wins together but she’s still undoubtedly one of the best female fighters in the world. A former Invicta FC Bantamweight title challenger, Aldana is on a two-fight win streak, including a first-round KO of Ketlen Vieira and a unanimous decision against Vanessa Melo. Hard to go past Holly Holm in this one but it could go either way.
