Fast & furious: Introducing Rugby 7s!
In Rugby Sevens, 7-player teams compete in 7-minute halves. It's different from rugby union's usual 15-player teams with 40-minute halves. The Sevens Series guarantees a fast, exciting, and engaging spectacle. This weekend's tournament starts Thursday in Dubai.
Last year in the Men's division, New Zealand, USA, and England finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively (out of 16 teams). In the Women’s competition, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (out of 12 teams). This year, for the first time, all the week’s matches will be featured events, plus, Wagerr’s giving 7,000 more reasons to tune in.
7,000 WGR Giveaway!
To celebrate the Rugby Sevens in Dubai, Wagerr is giving away 7,000 WGR. The rules are simple: place a bet of 500 WGR or more on any games in the tournament and you’re automatically in the draw to win. The winner will be drawn next week.
Big betting week
The weekly betting volume broke 10 million over Thanksgiving weekend. This was the 3rd biggest betting week yet! When converted to USD, Wagerr users staked $450k in bets this week.
More events than ever!
Wagerr offered 289 events this week — more events in a single week than ever before! College basketball (NCAAB) and a full draw of European soccer were all on the cards. The daily breakdown below shows that more WGR was bet almost every day of the week compared to the previous week.
Value Coupling
Another big burn removed 320k WGR from the supply. A consistent burn over time concentrates the value of the Wagerr network over fewer coins. The reduction of supply means existing holders are left with a larger proportion of the networks coins, with any additional demand for coins putting market pressure on the diminishing supply of existing coins. Wagerr calls this, “value coupling,” and it is one of the features that makes Wagerr so special.
Facebook outreach: "Wagerr Bets"
A Wagerr community member recently started the facebook group “Wagerr Bets.” The goal is to use Facebook as a bridge to help non-crypto people discover Wagerr. Sign up below to join the discussions. Wagerr is supporting this initiative with a bit of WGR to incentivize valuable contributions.
